Technology in the classroom

The big question in today's classroom is that is there is enough technology to go around? Well that is tough to say because the funding for technology is quite lacking in the United States Public School Districts. It seems that when schools have the technology most do not know how to use it and when other schools need technology in the classroom such as something as simple as a computer cart it is no where to be found.

Anyways though I believe that technology is a vital part in a classroom and is needed for students success. Keep in mind that schools do not need to have smart boards, computer carts and iPad's for every class, but they should be able to have the resources available to them such as a computer lab that a class can visit a couple times a week. There are so many resources on the internet and accessing takes a computer with an internet connection. With those two things students educational experience can open up tremendously and they will be able to learn so much more that reading in a textbook. They can take live tours of specific places in the world, learn new languages, find quality information for research, chat and blog with their peers and much more.

So I ask you, what do you think about the implementation of technology in the classroom and how do you think that if would effect student learning? Do you think that there are any downsides to it?

I am interested to hear what you have to say and thank you for reading my blog post this week!
